Week 2 ATV Safety Institute Program 2024

Treasure Valley is pleased to offer the ATV Safety Institute program for the 2024 summer season. Due to the limited number of ATVs, participants must be fifteen (15+) by the start of the week. Scouts will take part in the sixteen lessons of the ASI course. Class sizes are imposed by age and the number of vehicles we have. Scouts will need to bring a long-sleeve shirt/jacket, long pants, boots that cover ankles, and gloves. 

Program Details: Scouts who have completed Rider Certification can purchase trail rides*!
Cost: $10 – 15 minute Trail Ride
Cost: $25 – 25 minute Trail Ride
*All riders must show proof of certification

Program Details: Week 2 ATV 7/7-7/13

Cost: $50 (in addition to your regular camp fee)

Program Details: ATV Rider Course for Scouts attending TVSR Summer Camp Provisionally or with a Unit. 

Two Part Course:
1. E-Course: approx. 2 hours – done at home prior to camp
2. Hands on: 4 hours – TVSR Jamboree Field

ATV Class Schedule: This summer the ATV Safety Program will be offered during merit badge blocks 1, 2, 4 and 5, Monday – Thursday* with a maximum of 5 scouts per class. Scouts will be heading to Jamboree field everyday for the 50 minute class, so please help them prepare the remainder of their merit badge schedule with that in mind. For example, you might not want to schedule a waterfront badge immediately before the ATV class as it will be difficult to arrive to the ATV class on time.

*Additional trail rides on Friday will be offered and the cost is $10 per ride.

Prerequisite documents for the course: 

• ATV participation and hold harmless agreement (will be emailed to parent/guardian two weeks prior to camp)
• ASI ATV Waiver (will be emailed to parent/guardian two weeks prior to camp)
• Log on to the ASI website and take the e “E-Course” before coming to camp* and bring your completed certificate to camp with you. More information about the program can be found HERE.

*This E-Course MUST be completed at home before your Scout arrives at camp. If they arrive at camp without the certificate, they will not be able to participate and the fee will not be refunded.

Behavior: This is a serious training course in which youth will operating a large, power sport machines. The primary job of the course director is to run a safe course training. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Behavior in any of the following forms will be grounds for expulsion from the course: disrespectful to staff and other participants, horse-play or the inability to follow instructions. There will be no refunds for Scouts who are expelled from the class.
